Remembrance
This is a photograph of a Memorial Day procession in St. John's, taken two years ago. It accompanied my proto-blog, a travel journal I kept of that trip. In the entry for that day, I mused about the disparity (and irony) between the way war is remembered in the U.S. and at home.
I have more to say about that later. For now, here is the link to that entry, and my training blog. Because I think we are at the point in our relationship where I'm
ready to take you home. :)
(oh, and if you feel so moved, please come back here to comment--I rarely if ever go back to that blog)
I'm off to estate sail. Check in with me later.

Your other blog takes be back to a place I haven't been to in a long time in my mind and spirit. I have often wondered what it would be like as a supposed adult to go back with my children. Before my mother died we talked about taking a trip home, but I always said home was wherever she was. Now that she is gone and I have seen your pictures it makes me want to take the journey for her. Please keep writing it makes me feel and think. I need the challenge.
What happened after 1986? Perhaps some day we will have an oppourtunity to share our stories, God willing. Thanks.

I love estate sales!! And your title banner is wonderful.
I didn't make it to the estate sale after all, but I found the mother of all antique/flea malls, so I got my fix
Jen-thanks for the kind words. You should take your kids back for a visit. I remember your folks hailed from Belle Isle...it is still there for you and still beautiful.
