Back to whatever passes for normal around here...
Is it sending mixed signals to pause mid-reprimand to take a picture for the blog, do you think?

Classic picture!!
I would call it evidence. And what do you with that kind of mess on your hands? Just hose them off?
Their expressions may not reveal it - but those are two very happy boys.
You can't plan that kind of photo. Definitely a "hose 'em off" situation ...
I do the same thing ... tell the kidlets "Hold on ..." so that I can capture the moment for my blog (sometimes mid-discipline!)
HA! Rubber boots! Seriously? WONDERFUL picture!
wild boys ! they do look like Peter Pan's "lost boys"
Chris, yes, I believe there is an expression about pigs and manure that accurately describes their level of delight when they came splashing up the driveway. :-)
I made them hose off for ages before marching them off to the laundry room and shower. Since I'd specifically told them not to get muddy, I told them no Wii or tv the rest of the day.
"So I hope it was worth it," I said, as sternly as I could muster.
They just grinned. It totally was.
This gave me the laugh I needed this morning!
When it rains (in our desert, unlandscaped backyard) we get a huge puddle off our patio. My kids, especially my daughter, love to play in it, and it always ends with mudpies. Just mud. It's great.
Except when I need them to be clean for something else. Your comment made me laugh...
Brilliant photograph. Typical boys!
Awesome photo! One time when my son was probably about three years old, he stuck his head into a bucket of water and suds (we were washing the car) I was telling him NO NO and yet I had to grab my camera to capture his head full of suds. It's sometimes hard to not laugh when you're the parent :-D
It says you are a "fun" mom who hates to clean up messes! Love the photo!
Great photo. When they are in their thirties and you pull that out and show it to them it will be great all over again.
Great picture!
I have several pictures of my boys
covered in mud...I often wonder WHY? but they have so much fun..
hosed off in the drive way then scrubbed up in the tub...and they
want to go do it again...
It's good to see you have your priorities straight! Grab the camera. Then the hose. :)
Nah. Pausing for a picture allows you to calm down and see the humor in the situation. Plus, these will be your favorite pictures when they're all grown up....
Awesome! Such a classic "boys will be boys" picture. (Or rather, I should be more PC and say "kids will be kids" because I have seen my girls looking nearly as muddy in the past!)
I found you on Blogtations:

Wonderful photo, but best of all is your comment.
